TheNokia 8800 Siroccoedition is the upgrade of Nokia’s earlier high end solution 8800. Named ‘sirocco’
after the Mediterranean wind that becomes hurricane as it travel from Sahara to North Africa and Southern Europe, the handset is pleasure to watch. Crafted from premium steel, theNokia 8800 Siroccogives a strong impression of style and durability. The sensuous curves of the case with the iconic thumb rest only adds to mobile phone’s charm.
The handset is fitted with a large TFT display that produces more than 262k colour and is well protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire-coated glass. TheNokia 8800 Siroccois available in two colour solution – steel and black, both equally stylish, but the balance might tilt toward the black in terms of customer’s preference because it could be clearly distinguished from the originalNokia 8800.
Distinguished is the word apt for theNokia 8800 Sirocco. The uniqueness of the design is spilled over to the user interface. The handset is based on S40 3rd edition platform. Just like the exclusive tunes of theNokia 8800composed by Ryuichi Sakamoto, theNokia 8800 Siroccotoo features tunes exclusive to the device, this time composed by Brian Eno – the founder of Ambient music.
The camera module is upgraded from a 0.5 megapixel in 8800 to 2.0 megapixel in Sirocco edition. Now it is not only about catching an important moment to share it later but about capturing it in high resolution with better details. The camera is also capable of video recording in high quality format so that you can capture live action with accurate colours and great details. There is also a media player and a FM radio. Out of the total 128 Mb memory about 105 Mb is available to the user.
